A liittle help from those in the know Please......

 

I am from USA and have been coming to Thailand for couple years now, I stay with my Thai GF in Korat on regular toursit ViSA for about 3 weeks and then fly back to USA....Return about 60 days later and repeat process as I am still working....

 

I am at the point with my work where I have the freedom to stay longer in Thailand for 75 - 100 days before I have to go back to USA for work....

 

Even when retired and so called "Living In Thailand", I would still be going back to my Hawaii home about every 90-100 days....3-4 times a year.

 

This being the case, to avoid all the hassles of retirment visa and other Visa's, is it best for me to just do the longest Tourist Visa avialable ( i think 60-90 days), extend and do the border runs?

If you fulfill the retirement visa criteria (50+, 65k thb pension or deposit of 800k thb or a combination of both) I would say that is the better option, and cheaper in the long run. It's no hassle really, the entire process can be completed simply and for around 1900 thb + 3800 thb for the multiple entry permit plus the 'non O' conversion (from memory I think 3800 thb) of your first initial entry be it a tourist visa or normal 30 day airport entry stamp.
