Hi,

An old school mate of mine has a website that has a lot of info that will help.

She will need a A1 pte which is verified by Cambridge University, Not sure if they do in Pattaya but plenty in Bangkok, Although the A1 consists of Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading, in the regulations on the UK border agency website, she only needs to do the Speaking and Listening,

in the test, you will need to demonstrate a basic command of English (speaking and listening) at level A1 of the CEFR. This is a basic level, which is judged to require 40 to 50 hours' tuition for most learners. Someone assessed at level A1 can understand and use simple, everyday expressions and very basic phrases. You will not need to demonstrate your reading and writing skills.

Gives you a list of approved centres

Going to get my gf to do it here in October at Leeds

Be careful as there is an old list and a new list of approved test centres... Vantage are the only authorised people to do it in thailand at the mo as far as I know...

This is not right. Pearson is certainly on the list. Have a look at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/partners-other-family/english-tests-partners.pdf
