Pleasure Seeking Sattahip Soldier Caught Drug Dealing

A Nawamin army camp soldier and a teen boy were arrested after trying to flee a police sting drug buy. The soldier later confessed to being a long-time drug dealer. He had used his profits to buy his own drugs, and to spend time at entertainment centers.

SATTAHIP – August 31, 2012 [PDN]; at 6:45 p.m., the arrests of two drug dealers were made by Mr. Pawat Lertmookda, Sattahip sheriff, Chonburi province; together with Mr. Chawat Theptup, Deputy of Security Center; and special operations forces from the Center of Fighting Against Drugs.

The arrests were made at the soi behind Wat Thepprasart, Baan Taotarn, Moo 4 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province.

The suspects were identified as Mr. Sitthiphan or Joe Cheumthong (white shirt), age 21, a soldier a Nawamin camp; and “Mr. King” (alias), age 17. Both are accused of possessing a Type-1 drug (amphetamine).

Police seized the evidence of 5 amphetamine tablets, and a red-black Honda Wave S motorbike, license number NGOR MOR NOR-265 Chonburi.

Police had been investigating the drug dealing of Mr. Sitthiphan, who had been selling the amphetamines in the area.

Police had an undercover agent make a phone call the Mr. Sitthiphan to order 4 tablets of amphetamine for a total price of 1,000 THB.

An appointment was made for him to deliver the pills at a soi behind Wat Thepprasart. However, when police closed in for the arrest, Mr. Sitthiphan tried to escape. He was caught and arrested with another suspect, along with the pills.

During questioning, Mr. Sitthiphan confessed to smuggling and selling drugs for a long time to soldiers in the camp. He also sold drugs to a group of drug addicts in the area.

Mr. Sitthiphan told police he used his drug-dealing profits to buy drugs for himself, and also to travel to an entertainment center.
