Wary Meth Dealer Snared by Sattahip Police

A Sattahip drug dealer was arrested after he crashed his motorbike into a tree while fleeing from police. An undercover agent had arranged to buy methamphetamine pills from the suspect, who got suspicious and tried to flee the police trap.

SATTAHIP – August 30, 2012 [PDN]: at 1 p.m. the arrest of a methamphetamine dealer was announced Mr. Phawat Mukda, the sheriff of Sattahip, with Mr.Chawat Teptup, the general secretary of security division, and special forces from The National Command Center for Drugs (NCCD).

They had partnered to arrest Mr. Singha Boonklong, age 38, living at 75/20 Moo 1, Soi Nok Penguin, Bansare, Sattahip, Chonburi. He was charged as drug dealer having a Type 1 drug (methamphetamine) for sale.

Police seized the evidence of 20 meth pills and a red Honda Wave motorcycle, registration number Khor Wor Wor 616 Chonburi, in soi Sattahip Sukhumvit 19 (Vega) Moo 4 Pattaya, Sattahip, Chonburi.

Police had been investigating Mr. Singha as a suspected drug dealer, and noticed he was behaving like an amphetamine user. So police created a scheme to entrap him, by sending an agent to buy 10 meth pills from him at the roadside along Sukhumvit No.3, opposite of Ban Tao Than Health Center.

However, when Mr. Singha showed up, he sensed it was a police trap. So he tried to escape on his motorcycle with police officers chasing him. But he lost control of his motorbike and crashed sideways into a tree, and was arrested.

Police found the 10 meth pills in Mr. Singha’s pants pocket and brought him to his house, where they searched inside and found 10 other pills, which they seized as additional evidence.

The suspect confessed that all the meth pills were his, which he had received from “Mr. Jack,” age 28, in Bangsare market. However, after he heard that an undercover agent was investigating his drug dealing, he had fled to lay low in Muang Pattaya.

Mr. Singha told police he needed money to pay debts from football gambling. The police detained Mr. Singha and brought all evidence to the detective team of Sattahip police for prosecution.
