Had IBS about 10 years on and off. Mostly on! Put it down to beer diet and the normal hot foods.. Well last two years it just got worse. Tried everything. Well the usual gave up hot food beer etc but no difference still on the loo about 5 to 10 times a day.. Funny thing was if I took a trip to Pattaya from where I live in Thailand it got better.. So ok I know what you all think yes move to Pattaya! Nice thought but it would kill me..lol... Anyways since being in Thailand I have been drinking a lot of coffee about 3 to 5 cups a day.. I did not use sugar but Equal Sweetners. I found a article on the net about how these sweetners can stop the body absorbing water in the large intestine so giving you watery diarhea.. So I stopped using them and within two days I was back to a normal turnout everyday!! Result.. I had had stool tests etc to find out what the problem was but could find nothing.. Oh yes and while in Patts I never used sweetners but good old fashioned sugar.. I hope this may be of use to anyone else who has IBS.. Dodgydave now a firm dumper.. Pattaya saved my life???

hello mate

I recently started to have IBS this year on and off and i have recently moved to Pattaya with hope that as well as its obvious benefits it would also help with this. As they say IBS is only a common issue in the western culture and not so in the eastern culture with regards diet.

If it helps i find using peppermint oil capsules very helpful as well as probiotic capsules, to be honest i would not wish IBS on a regular basis over a prolonged period of time on anyone but it is good to hear someone else's experience with this ailment

People can develope allergies to many things such ad eggs milk coffee etc but in my case now six weeks and no return just one or sometimes two firm proper dumps a day.. It would seem the sweetners were my problem. It all just fits in with when on a trip and no sweetners to have I do not have a problem.. It really is the worst thing to have as you cannot plan anything... Hope you are able to find your triggers. Best of luck Dave
