Russian tourist falls to death from Surat Thani hotel

SURAT THANI, Aug 29 - A Russian tourist fell to his death from the 20th storey balcony of a hotel in the southern province of Surat Thani.

The dead man was identified only as Mr Vladimir Ruskuleshov, 26.

A bottle of an alcoholic drink was found on the balcony and his belongings, scattered in the room. included a broken mobile phone, and computer notebook. Two bottles of liquor were also found in the room.  

According to the initial investigation, the victim checked in alone, but persons in the hotel said they heard shouting from the room before the body was found.

Police speculated he might have quarreled on the phone and vented his anger on his own belongings. They further speculated that he went to drink on the balcony, became drunk and fell to his death.  (MCOT online news)

I love the bizarre explanations in these news stories - he must have argued with someone on the phone, smashed up all his own belongings and fell off the balcony! Happens all the time. LOL.

Poor guy...they left out the bit about stabbing himself in the back on the way down....I wonder what a police report like this costs?

Seems legit, after all, falling off a balcony, drunk, is likely to be the most common death for any farang in Thailand ??

 

And of course he wasnt arguing with someone inside the room, what a stupid idea to investigate such nonsense...

F%^K if this was Oz the building bylaw would be changed overnight as there is nothing more embarrassing as killings so many guests in your country because your building bylaw in regards to safety hand railing is insufficient.

 

Make the rails that big and high you cant be thrown over them just in case you slip and gain uncontrollable speed while trying to keep your rum and coke from spilling while not arguing with the unidentified person who immediately leaves via the fire escape prior to you falling up over the ......
