I've got a lot of Thailand stamps in my passport. I've been retired since 2010, not settled anywhere, I move around different Southeast Asian countries- live free!

Now, my situation is this- I'm in Pattaya on a 30 day visa, and when it's up, I'm going to Cambodia to visit friends for a few days. I want to get a 60 day visa in Phnom Penh when I'm there and return to LOS after spending about a week in Cambodia.

If I were to be denied entry to LOS, how would they do it? By refusing to grant me the visa in Phnom Penh, or at immigration at Suvarnapumi airport? And if that happened, what could I do??

BTW, I've never overstayed my Thai visa or been in any trouble with the cops here in Thailand. Never done anything wrong, never given them a reason to deny me entry. That said, they're in charge and can do what they want.... not up to me!

I hope this doesn't sound paranoid, but when I arrived on my most recent visit, the immigration guy at BKK airport looked throught my passport, obviously noticed a lot of Thai arrival/departure stamps, and made a phone call before stamping me in.

Does anybody KNOW anything about this?

Thanks

Yep paranoid is a good word...lol I have a 60 page passport that is half filled with Thai stamps and they have never blinked an eyelid. I think the only thing they hate is when you are leaving and they have to find the current entry stamp..:D

I've done so many tourist visa runs for the last eight years that I had to get 3 new passports. Never once I heared anyone complaining on the buses or planes that they had their visas denied, more recently double-entry visa applications were cropped to single entry, but they all got a refund. On the airport however I too was interviewed once because my passport proved I had spend the last two years in TH on tourist visas and extentions, and the clerk assumed I worked illegally. I told her that I would never work for Thais, or with Thais because I don't have to, and had my book from a Thai bank in the luggage to prove why. Convinced her, and she stamped my passport.

Technically, the embassy could deny the visa, and the immigration could invalidate the by the embassy granted visa. You're a good man as you say, no record of bad deeds in TH, and they're really interested to get good men spending money in Thailand.
