Out of curiosity, what was the cost?

...old thread, but...

I'm after a recommendation for somewhere that does composite veneers. These are the type that DO NOT drill your teeth for preparation. I imagine there are only a few places that may provide these, as its down to the dentists' skill rather than a veneer made in a lab.

Any experiences or recommendations please?

I have had 16 veneers fitted in Pattaya; 8 on top and 8 on the bottom.  I have had veneers since my teenage years and the job I had done in Thailand was far superior to anything in the west, and a fraction of the price.  I had mine completed by Dr Cherry, now working in Central Festival, level 4.

Cost was 7,000 per veneer.  I do not think you will be able to have a good job without having some enamel removed from the front and sides prior to fitting.  Veneers are 1 - 1.5mm thick to have some strength and solid colour uniformity.  Once you have veneers once you are stuck with them for life.  The only step past veneers is crowns.

This may sound stupid, but what was the reason for you getting them so young? Cosmetic, I would guess? I'm seriously considering it myself, but it's kind of scary to know that they need to be replaced every 2-5 years or whatever, FOR LIFE! How often have you had to replace yours? And have you ever regretted the decision you made to get them in the first place? Thanks.

8000 per tooth for composite? Seems a bit pricey for the Thailand market. Regardless, I'm thinking porcelain is the way to go for me.

Was looking around online and found Bangkok Smile Dental running a special through the end of the year for 9000 per tooth for porcelain veneer. That's an amazing price, considering you can fly half way around the world, buy an expensive dental procedure, and save $6,000 from what the same thing would cost at home - flight included.
