Hearing that there were plenty of birds puffing out their chests and displaying their plumage along Pattaya Beach recently, our roving reporter took a "tern" for the worse when all he saw were these pigeons enjoying a leisurely amble, undisturbed by the flocks of tourists who should be on our beaches.

The sight of depressed beach vendors hawking their wares to lines of empty chairs leads us to hope for the swift return of high season to Fun Town.

A more welcome sight on the beaches - tourists, we mean.
