U-tapao AIrport taxi

Does anyone know if there is a regular taxi service from this airport into Pattaya ?

They are Taxi but they will charge 1000 baht, its a rip off but there's no other choice.

you can pay 250 baht to go in a van with other people but it might take a while longer if you are the last to be dropped off.

Usually they try and get 1000 baht for a taxi from the airport but last time they only charged me and my mate 800 baht.

This was in May. You can always try and haggle but they know you have limited options for getting to Pattaya.

During high season I think there is no way you will get it for less than 1000 baht.

You could maybe try prebooking a taxi from Mr T taxi or PT taxi, they should give you a better rate.

Yes pre-book Mr T as you will get a better rate and he is a very reliable service. [email protected]

I booked Mr T at the weekend and the price was 650, waiting for me when I got there...I gave him 800.

Yes the van at 250 can be a real pain in the ass, sometimes taking as long as the actual flight....I kid you not.

Still, if you are travelling alone and time is not of the essence then it remains the best option.

 

If two of you or more are travelling together then absolutely book a taxi thru T.

I have a friend does "taxi" service and lives near U-Tapao. I think she charges 500 from U-Tapao to Pattaya.

 

She has a decent saloon car. It is insured but it is NOT registered/insured as a taxi. Most "taxis" are not either, I am just giving you a heads up to be totally up front in advance.

It takes about 45 minutes to travel from Pattaya to U-tapoa if you get a clear run.

U-Tapao is just a km from Sukhumvit. There are coaches and meter taxis passing all day long every couple of minutes in the direction of Sattahip. Never arrived or departed from this airfield so I don't know, but the coach can't be more than 50 Baht to Pattaya, and a metered taxi 400 at most.

I promised a friend of mine that I would help promote her Taxi/Car Hire service so I thought I'd give her a mention here on PA. Her name is Ice and she has a small fleet of new cars with real drivers including herself. Her english is very good and you will get where your going on time and in one piece. I'm going to make a website for her for bookings but until then I've made a email address she can be contacted on.

 

She's been doing this for a few years but has always relied on regular customers but wants to expand the business. She has some other female drivers too which is good!! (some of the taxis I've had in the past have scared the shit out of me, one fell asleep three times on the way to the airport and the other averaged about 160kph).

 

I'll put a thread on here soon with more info and rates. She did tell me the prices but then I had a few beers and forgot nearly everything she said. She's got a fortuner and a few other cars also that she rents out. I've used them for trips up to the village and they're all in perfect condition. I gave her an idea of a VIP style van or mini bus with a fridge of cold beers which she thought was a good idea, would be good for a group of mates or even a few girls meeting you at the airport!!!!.

Jesus 160kmh what I remember that small airport is out Bang Chang way and those roads don't look like they would handle 100kmh let alone 160 shit. That aside thanks for your reply but am I rite in presuming its the U-tapio airport we are talking about not BKK ?.

Yeah the 160kmh wasn't on a trip to utapao it was coming back from bkk and that was when the new motorway had just been finished and there were still a few sections that weren'r surfaced yet. It was fucking scary.

 

But like I said before I highly recommend my friends service and only mention her on here because I know she provides a good service and her cars are new and safe.
