Car Rental Companies

Hi all

I need some info; I'm looking to hire a car on my next trip, I'll need the car for 10-14 days. I'm in Pattaya from 19 Oct.

I tried searching on the forums but have looked at pages and pages without any joy, the last thread I did read linked to a car rent firm but they didnt reply to my emails.

I'd appreciate if anyone can share some links and recommendations for decent compaines, I wont be taking any cards to Thailand, so would look to put down a cash deposit for the rental, I've done this before in Chiang Mai and I've read a couple of firms offering the same payment option.

I'll be looking for anything from a jazz to a pick-up, not wanting to spend too much and must be insured and not a dodgy company looking to fleece me haha

Please feel free to share some info

Thanks in advance

hertz worked out a bit more expensive..i guess its the name and rep that demands a premium...im not sure if they allow cash deposits though as I dont bring plastic with me to los(been skimmed in the uk before and lost out so dont trust banks/cops in los)

anymore?

jerrys link looks perfect..knowing my luck the guy wont have any cars left or he'll have 1 thats not listed and is used for transporting chickens or something haha

Try this one mate. No website yet but she has a few new cars for rent at reasonal prices [email protected]

I use her cars all the time and all insured and well kept. I've just got my own car now so don't need to use hers anymore but promised her I'd mention her on here. Hassle free and she's a very nice person to deal with.

There are loads of rental companies in an around pattaya. It depends if you want cheap or something you can trust. Personally I prefer to go with one of the big multinationals. I understand they are slightly more expensive than some local places. But you get what you pay for in the long run. If you run into any problems with the car/damage/insurance there will be virtually no come back with local companies and you could end up paying thru the nose for a small scrape. Unlike the large multinationals who will deal with issues more professionally and in a fairer manner.
