WAITING LIGHT SHOULD READ WAIT UNTIL LIGHT GOES GREEN BEFORE TURNING LEFT

 

I DECIDED TO TAKE THAT POSTERS ADVICE FIRST FRIEND TOURIST POLICE AFTER A FIVE MIN CONVERSATION IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT I GO TO SOI 9 AND ASK FOR TRAFFIC INSPECTOR WHO IS OFF UNTIL MONDAY,AND OF COURSE THERE INTERPETATION OF THE SIGN WAS WAIT UNTIL LIGHT TURNS GREEN.

I INFORMED THE POLICE SGT THAT I WAS IRISH AND I WAS FLUENT IN IRISH AND ENGLISH,AND SAID WHO EVER TRANSLATED THE THAI MEANING TO ENGLISH MUST HAVE HAVE HIT HIS HEAD OF THE FLOOR OR HE MAY HAVE BEEN DRUNK,BECAUSE IT MADE NO MEANING AT ALL IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE SO IT IS JUST ANOTHER MONEY SPINNER FOR THE SCUM IN SOI 9 TO TAKE MORE MONEY OFF PEOPLE FROM EUROPEAN COUNTRIES AND ANY TOURIST SO PLEASE POST A NOTICE IN YOUR LOCAL WATERING HOLES WHAT THIS SIGNS MEANS,COP AROUND THE CORNER WAITING TO TAKE 400 BT FOR BREAKING THE LIGHT AND MORE MONEY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNATIONAL LICENCE.

I ASKED IN AN IRISH LICENCING OFFICE COULD I EXCHANGE A THAI DRIVERS LICENCE FOR AN IRISH LICENCE,AND IRELAND DOES NOT RECONSISE THAI LICENCE

Never been done for that, though the license thing is very true. Rightly so, I guess, that's the law.

I often sigh at the traffic lights when they change to red just as I get there .
