On May 20, 2008, Mr. John had been arrested by the Pattaya and Banglamung police at house number 44/97 Sapsombat village Moo 9 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

He was initially charged with raping a 9-year-old boy. Mr. John denied the charges, and submitted property to bail himself out jail. But Mr. John failed to make later scheduled court appearances and went into hiding.
