Thai required to get Visa for Vietnam

Myself and my Thai wife are thinking on going over to Vietnam (Hanoi) for a first time trip and was wondering what is the Visa requirement for a Thai national entering Vietnam ?

Don't think she will need a visa as Vietnam is one of the ASEAN countries. I took a BG to HCMC a few years back and she didn't need a visa. Don't recall how many days they gave her though, but probably 30.

I think that Thai's can travel anywhere within Asia without a visa. Will be worth checking out though beforehand so either scour the net or ring the Embassy.

 

You will need a visa to travel to Vietnam though. You can either get one prior to travel or you can get a letter of confirmation that avisa will be granted upon arrival. I did the latter and printed off the letter.

 

Without a visa or a letter confirming that a visa will be granted upon arrival you won't be allowed to board the plane (I was asked by Air Asia staff to prove that I would be allowed entry before they would issue my ticket).

She does not need a visa, took my GF last year no problem, and when you come back through immigration in Thailand go to Thai queue as they will let you through with her.

Enjoy your time although not as much English spoken as you would expect.
