Swede kills Kiwi Man In Drunken Fight Over Dog

A New Zealand man died after being stabbed by a Swede in a drunken bar fight, triggered by the victim’s dog. The Swede’s Thai girlfriend had wanted to play with the dog, but the Swede forbade her. This angered the Kiwi man, so they began fighting.

PATTAYA – 21, 2012 [PDN]; at 1:40 a.m, a report of a man being stabbed in a fight between two foreigners was received by Pol. Maj. Seksan Reuvet, Inspector, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province. He rushed to the scene with the rescue officer of Sawangboribul Pattaya foundation.

The incident occurred in front of a beer bar complex near Alligalordge hotel in Soi Diana near Soi Buakhao Moo 9,Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

Police arrived at the scene and discovered the victim lying on the ground, surrounded by a crowd of onlookers. He appeared to be a foreigner and was shirtless, wearing only shorts with a small waistbag. There were tattoos all over his body.

The man was unconscious and barely breathing. He had been stabbed twice in the back and once in his neck. He was still bleeding from his wounds.

The police inspected his waistbag and found some cash and a bank credit card identifying him as Mr. Robert E. Hollick, age 43, from New Zealand. The rescue officer performed first aid and rushed him to Pattaya Memorial Hospital, but Mr. Robert later died from his wounds.

Meanwhile, bystanders were restraining the stabbing suspect and his Thai girlfriend for the police. He was identified as Mr. Andreas Ringvall, age 40, from Sweden. His girlfriend was Ms. Dao Pholutsa, age 26, address 54 Moo 10 Tambon Nongtakrong, Amphur Lahansai, Burirum province.

Both of them were drunk and had bloodstains on their clothes. Police recovered the weapon, a 1-foot-long fruit knife that was stained with blood.

When the police initially questioned Mr. Andreas, he refused to say anything. However, his drunken girlfriend Ms. Dao shouted loudly that her husband was beaten first by the other man, so he had to protect himself.

This made the crowd of onlookers angry. They began shouting and scolding the couple, saying that they were the troublemakers who had started the fight.

But Ms.Dao shouted back and scolded the people. They got so angry that fighting near erupted between the two sides. So the police hurried to take the two troublemakers away from the scene to investigate at Pattaya police station.

 

When arrived at Pattaya police station, Mr. Andreas still refused to talk. So the police asked Ms. Dao about the incident.

Ms. Dao told police that she and her boyfriend had been drinking in the beer bar, when the New Zealander walked in the bar with his dog to also have a drink. They did not know each other, and gave a friendly greeting.

However, the Kiwi man then began arguing with her boyfriend for some unknown reason. She said Mr. Robert then punched her boyfriend in the face, so her boyfriend fought back.

But the staff at the beer bar stopped the fighting and evicted them. So she persuaded her boyfriend to go back home, but they were followed by Mr. Robert, who kept provoking them. Her boyfriend got so angry that he then took out a knife and stabbed Mr. Robert several times.

Ms. Dao said that her husband only stabbed Mr. Robert because he was beaten first, and so he had to protect himself. She asked the police to confirm with the witnesses about who made trouble first.

The police didn’t believe Ms. Dao, so they later asked a witness, Mr. Mual Samat age 34, a motorbikerider-for-hire.

Mr. Mual said that before incident occurred, the couple had been drinking at a beer bar near the incident, when the other foreign man walked in with the dog to drink liquor.

Both parties had greeted each other. Then Ms. Dao saw that the man’s dog was so cute, she asked to play with his dog. But her boyfriend didn’t like the dog, so he scolded Ms. Dao, which angered the owner of the dog. The two men began quarreling and started fighting, until the staff separated them.

Mr. Mual said that the couple left the bar. But they later returned to the beer bar with a knife. Ms. Dao’s boyfriend then fought again with the New Zealander, and used his knife to stab Mr. Robert. The couple then tried to escape, but were restrained by witnesses.

Initially, the police arrested Mr. Andreas with initial charges of killing another person. Ms. Dao was also detained as a witness. Both were sent to the investigation officer to investigate and prosecute further according to the law.

Alleged killer of Kiwi now on the run

 

 

The alleged murderer of a Wellington man stabbed to death in Thailand was allowed to leave the country and is now on the run.

Robert Hollick, 43, from Upper Hutt, was stabbed with a knife three times in his neck and back during a bar fight in the coastal town of Pattaya in August.

Police arrested a 40-year-old Swede, Andreas Ringvall, and charged him with murder. His Thai girlfriend was also detained.

Now, Mr Hollick's mother Anne Hollick has learnt Ringvall has been on the run for months.

After the stabbing, Ringvall's girlfriend told police Mr Hollick started the fight, but witnesses said Ringvall caused the trouble after the woman began playing with Mr Hollick's dog.

The girlfriend was sent back to her room and Ringvall returned with a knife, stabbing Mr Hollick, they said.

Ringvall was bailed days after being arrested, but Ms Hollick said she was shocked to discover that he had been allowed to return to Sweden in late October for "family reasons".

The Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry confirmed to her on Tuesday that Ringvall was missing.

Well im told he was on bail....and got it because his mother is dying in Sweden....so technically he supposed to come back for the court hearing....I guess he wont come back to Thailand........they can still pursue him but I doubt they will......although thai authorities did chase after that English kickboxer guy that killed the marine  and bring him back I remember ? Also according to a bar owner I heard his bail was 5 million baht. which was put up by his sister.

 

Now he lost the money.........now how is he going to come back for holidays?
