I have changed buses or passed through it many times. Not the most exciting place to be honest although it is not too far from Bangkok and not that far from the main route North. That will make family visits a bit easier for you than those with wives from Isaan.

My wife is from there also. I made a 2 day trip there last year for my wedding....was pretty much ferried around by the family and didn't really get a chance to see much. I know they did suffer a pretty sever flood about 1 year ago.....

My daughter wants to visit and learn a little about the Thai culture. I thought it would be nice to pass through and show her the house that her mom grew up in. I just have to figure out what to do with her when I go to Pattaya. Maybe send her home early.
