Theres still no real list of taxi fares from BK to Pat.

I know Secrets Bar/Hotel will pick you up from the airport for 1500Bht

There doesn't seem to be any set prices they range from 1000 to 2500Bht

depending who you use.

Did you ever feel that just by jumping on a plane, All your cares would drop away

And you'd be born again,Returning to a nature child,

Happy wild and free.

You're correct, there is a whole range of prices. Average asking seems to be about 1300, with most 1500 or less. You can negotiate with the taxi touts at the airport and come out about the same, but it is cool to have someone waiting for you with your name on a sign.

whats the traffic like from airport to pattaya . How long does it take now last few times ive been in big delays . have they finished working on the road yet?

Depending on how crazy a driver you get, extreme short end is one hour with no traffic. I average about 80 minutes no traffic. With heavy traffic all the way, two-three hours easily.

The ride from the airport was always 2.5 hours. Is it still the same with the new airport? I found this video on youtube showing pattaya to BKK in 10mins. Can anyone confirm this?

If you want to book online and use train travel around asia I can recommend www.seat61.com.

I have used this site many times and found brilliant, the train travel to Chang Mai is a great

journey on the overnight sleeper, leaves Bangkok at 19.05 arrives Chang Mai 09.00, the

accomodation in second class is excellent, 950bt each way, makes a nice change from flying or

driving, you can get good quality food and beer brought to your seat or there is a good

buffet bar. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!!!!

The motorway is now fully open ans makes ahuge difference. Journey time depends on the time you arrive. Think 90 minutes to 1 3/4 hours.

That is incorrect. It's 30+ minutes to Suk/Soi 4 area with a sane driver and a little traffic.

You didn't mean 2.5 to BKK did you?

The best way is to take the Bell bus if it fits in with your arrival time. There is also another bus service although I don't know the details. You will find their agents on the bottom level below arrivals. If you want a taxi, go up to the departures level and negotiate. If you are lucky you may get a price of B1,000. B1,200 is a reasonable price to pay, anything more than B1,400 is taking the piss. Depending on the route there will probably be an additional B60 in tolls to pay.

Ive taken a metered before but it took me a while to get one.

I always use Mr Toom 0814827148 or 0830178066. Tell him Danny from Sydney referred you. Looks after me well all the time, never any fuss with the drivers. Cost: 1200 baht.

Hi guys,

i did some research on google and found an email adress for the bell busses.

i send them an email with the some questions and this is the answer i got.

Our bus schedule from Suvarnabhumi airport to Pattaya is 8:00/10:00/12:00/14:00/16:00/18:00. The fare is 150 baht per person and it shall be paid to our staff on the bus. This includes company's transportation to your hotel (downtown Pattaya area).

At Suvarnabhumi airport, our staff will be waiting for you on Level 1, Gate#7 next to Tourist Police counter, holding a small sign of "Pattaya - Bell Travel Service". Then she will lead you to the bus which is parked right outside the terminal. Her contact number is +66(0)89-449-8843.

We also provide service from Pattaya to Suvarnbhumi airport and hotels in dowtown Bangkok. The bus schdule is 6:00/9:00/11:00/13:00/ 15:00/17:00/19:00. Only the 9:00, 13:00, and 17:00 buses have connecting transportation to hotels in Bangkok after stopping at Surarnbhumi airport.

The fare is 150 baht/person from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi airport and 300 baht/person from Pattaya to hotels in Bangkok. This includes pick-up and drop-off services from and to your hotels in both cities.

All passengers need to reserve their seats in advance. It would be great if you can reserve your seats at least 7 days prior to your travel date.

I can suggest a driver that has taken me on day excursions, as well as picked up quite a few friends from the airport. His name is Mr.Dim, has a very comfortable car, allows smoking, and will ask if you prefer to sit in front or the back(which I personally like to sit up front :) ) He speaks perfect English, and has yet to let anyone I know down, has always been on time, and never changed the agreed upon price after your dropoff. His telephone number is #0890526749. Great and funny guy, can arrange for vans for visa runs or trips to the village, will even go out of his way to slow down or stop if you are wanting to take a picture of something. Hope that helps you guys out.

Hi from Fat Jack, Very impressed with all the info from Sponge Bob, just one question, "Do you have the E-mail address for Bell Bus Services? It would be easier to book in advance by email rather than telephone. I am travelling in January and arrive in Bangkok at about 07.00, so the 08.00 to Pattaya would be ideal.

FOR NEWBIES:

Many people here have listed the names and contact info of reliable taxi services between the airport and Pattaya. For newbies I'd urge you to learn from my error and use them. I didn't do so and when I came to the airport, I had to take a taxi from one of the independent drivers who hawk their services at the airport to new arrivals. I had negotiated a fee of about 1500 baht with one of them. In view of my experiences in other countries I asked whether the 1500 baht fee was all-inclusive (i.e. took care of tolls, etc.) The guy said that the fee was a flat fee. . .

. . . a claim which lasted until after we passed several tolls. The guy then said that the toll costs were extra. I reminded the guy that we had agreed otherwise, and that I had specifically mentioned tolls. He eventually backed down, but it made for some tense moments. Why suffer that when you first arrive at the airport? Book with one of the services listed on this topic and save yourself grief. Hope this helps.
