What is your favorite Hotel in Pattaya?

Well I have been to Pattaya quite a few times. The first time I went was with some monger buddies of mine and they said we had to stay at the SPAM WORD. I have to say other than the awesome pancakes for breakfast I really have nothing nice to say about this hotel. Too much gay porn on the TV and just general weirdness. I would never stay there again however I do get up sometimes and head there to get pancakes. Yeah I guess I am weird too.

I have to say my favorite hotel is the Amari Orchid. I have stayed there about 3 times and I love the amenities. When I am on vacation in Pattaya I am not there only for the fun I want a real vacation and the Amari Orchid is very nice. I would definitely recommend this one if you wanted to bring your family for a vacation. It is the first hotel on Beach Road and far from the sights of Walking St. It is a nice walk down to the Central Pattaya Mall and the rates are not bad for a 4/5 star hotel.

My second favorite is the Vista Pattaya. I was surprised when I checked in there. They have an alright gym, YEAH LIKE I AM GOING TO USE THE GYM ON VACATION, and the salt water pool was not bad. I have stayed at the Vista like 6 times. I like the fact they have parking downstairs. It makes me feel safe because I normally rent a car when I am in Thailand.

My third favorite hotel is the Holiday Inn. I have stayed there twice and the views are great. I brought my Filipina GF with me both times and having fun on the balcony was pretty cool. The pool is nice and the hotel is really nice. The rooms are great with huge soft beds. I would recommend this one if you were bringing family members. It is the second hotel on Beach Road and is also far from Walking St.

As you can see I am not that worried about being far from the action. My friends always stay at Frazier place and I would but it is just loud there. When I get back to my room I want peace and quite. I have walked all the way to Walking St from all of these hotels and it wasn't that bad. One night I did in the rain from the Holiday Inn and that sucked but otherwise it only takes like 20 minutes to walk down.

I have stayed a few other places but these are my favorites. I book all of my hotels at www.asiatravel.com. This site has the best rates of any site I have found and I travel a lot.

Any questions about the PI PM me. I live in Manila part time and I own two clubs.

Peace Out,

BigRoy

Need a few parameters

I am sure every hotel is liked by somebody.

What is the price range?

Do you want guest friendly.

The best does not allow guests (for a price maybe)

+1 Exactly! each has a different idea, financial options, requirements for equipment, hotel location, etc. I personally prefer mid-priced hotels that offer good service and not too expensive.

Remember that you spend at the hotel except for sleeping and romance minimum time (at least me). Why pay 5K at the Hilton when I used the money differently? But this is just my opinion.

I try not to spend more than 3000B per night. I have found some good deals as I said. I like Vista because you can get a good room there for around 1650B. It has a nice big tub and a nice big bed. THat is pretty much all someone needs. I usually stay at the Amari if I have my GF with me because I want her to have something to do during the day while I am out doing whatever I can find bad to do

Peace Out,

i like the hard rock hotel but normally i would say its to expensive by booking the standard rates .

since last year they are offering special rates for expats which having a work permit and living in thailand

when i book over this special promotion (available direct on hard rock hotel homepage)

you can get the room for aprox. 2400 THB including the breakfast which i think is a very good price compared to the standard rates

im using this every second or third weekend to get away from bangkok and have a relaxed weekend in patty

but you need to show copy of workpermit up on check inn otherwise they will charge you the standard rate

also if you consider to take the girl in you must bring for check inn otherwise they will charge you joiner fee for non registered guest

"And were you pleased?" they asked Helen in Hell.

"Pleased?" answered she,when all Troy's towers fell;

And such a war was fought as none had known;

And even the Gods took part; and all because

Of me alone! Pleased?

I should say I was!"

I stayed at The Haven for one night and checked out. I can't see why it is highly recommended! Only booked there from all the glossy reviews here.

It had cigarette holes in the bedspread and pillows and the electrical powerpoint was dangling from the walls.

It's mentioned that it has had a refurb recently but looks like just a splash of paint.

Small rooms with a black bathroom, with shit water pressure.

Super slow wifi.

Great location though.

For a little more money, 200 baht extra per night, I then stayed at the "Fourteen again hotel" above Tim's Agogo. It was chalk and cheese. Although no wifi in rooms, not a great big problem, as I don't go to Pattaya to sit on the net.

New large rooms with a King Sized bed, had great fun in the Sauna, some rooms had a 4 person sauna, great location for 1200 baht.

I like the cheaper hotels in a good location like Intown Holiday hotel on Soi Diana(soi 10?), about 100 meters east of 2nd road. It was 600b in low season and 800 baht in high season. It does have a pool on roof.

Only stayed at a few places so far, but my favorite is Page 10, off Soi 10 close to Second Road. I'm pretty sure it was only 1500 baht a night, and has a pool (which I didn't use). Had a falang breakfast available, which I only did once, but some of you guys might like. It's definitely worth looking into, if you prefer staying in the middle of town.

Before finding forum and after becoming a "cheap charlie" stayed Naklua Royal Orchid and Ayria Palace, RO would not back down from joiners fee even though by documentation proved room booked for 2. Ayria Palace tried same but did back down when I proved by documentation room was booked for 2 persons. Royal Palace also tried to argue about joiners fee and still charged 2 nights before I proved room booked for 2 but I could not be arsed to argue over 8oo Thb just knew its not a mongers hotel and are into fast turnover Jap trade who stay 2 nights and hog the lifts have no manners about queueing and dont realise when they are on the "ground floor" they have to let people off before they casn get on.Last trips stayed in "budget hotel" Soi 11 next to Soi Honey very basic but had no real problems staff have become very friendly the more visits I have made and although I expected a problem last trip taking 3 girls back 1 night the staff and I had some real verbal fun about it.

I am using Areca Lodge next trip because a GG girl I met last time was so taken by the size of my room at the budget hotel and how different it was to her "loom" I want to treat her, she is worth it. I only cancelled Areca Lodge which I had booked for last trip because of lots of "negative" posts, I now realise you have to try it yourself and manage the situation yourself.

I'm a fan of nicer, pricier hotels -- I only get away for shorty trips, so I want to stay in a place that really makes me feel like I'm on vacation.

Marriott is my favorite hotel - can't beat the location; big, nice rooms; GREAT pool area (very "tropical" with all of the plants and rarely crowded); amazing staff.

All of that said, I stayed there on Marriott points and don't know if I would be willing to pay the going rate. Next trip is solely at Holiday Inn (which I also really like) because I had more points & got my entire trip for free there.

I follow your thinking I can only spend 10 days leave at a time and as such although I hope to have 4 trips this year I am now looking at accomodation that makes me really feel I am on holiday, I have always used decent accommodation in BKK (not rich man) I now have a favourite hotel that is getting harder to book unless well in advance, The budget hotel in Pattaya have always looked after me but this time I am trying something better for overall comfort because my "trips" should be "holidays" which changes nothing about LOS and Pattaya being the best place I have ever holiday'd in.

You can't beat the Marriott. The location is ideal and most of the rooms face a beautiful and peaceful garden with a wonderful swimming pool area. Yet when you go through the gate and out onto Beach Road, you're instantly plunged into the middle of the madness. It's real Alice sliding down the rabbit hole stuff. An unforgettable experience.

New to the board, so hello all. I need some advice as to a great hotel 900-1500 a night or even for long stay of 2 weeks, that is near all the beer bars or Soi6 .(I guess) never been to patty, just Phuket. Anyway I need something with good street access and really close to the action as I can not walk much. Nearly lost my leg in a motorcycle accident. Any help wand photos would be great. Ohh and girl friendly about bringing LT back with you.
