At Mind (@ Mind) Serviced Residence review

Stayed in Pattaya 13-19 June 2012, have been home about 12 hours now.

Third time in Pattaya, first time at the @ Mind (was a referral from a good friend) and will go back.

It's located just off second street at the top end of Soi 6. If you know where Tropical Berts is you're about a 3 minute walk from the hotel, it's a stones throw from the Centaria if that helps.

Got the executive room with the separate bedroom. Room was very clean, very "new" feeling and not dated at all. The entire staff was extremely friendly and we booked all our tours through the front desk no problem at all, they took very good care of us. The pool was great, a good size for what you might expect so close to town. Breakfast was included, served from 6-10 every day and was satisfactory, not bad at all.

hotel was very girl friendly, but they did require sign-in and held the ID for the duration. My girl just left hers at the front desk for 6 days as I was a one girl man this time around, except for the visit to Honey Massage on the front end of the visit.

Room cleaning seemed to happen very late in the day which wasn't a problem because we were lazy most days and didn't head out until well after noon.

Overall a great place to stay, would recommend and use again.

Hi,

Cannot understand - "13-19 June 2012, have been home about 12 hours now.". This review was posted today. Is that u stayed at different place and then changed here?

You need to post the prices, photos etc so that it can be useful to others.

I have stayed @Mind on several occassions (my ex teerak really liked it). I can endorse the OPs comments - newish, good quality accomodation. Not far from 2nd road opp Soi Six - Jamesons Irish bar further up the soi and past that is the best Thai cafe in Patters IMO. @Mind has a reasonable pool too. Downsides (not wanting to be racist) a lot of Russians were there, some of whom were really loud (shouting screaming and aggresive at 5am),pretty rude and aloof when I stayed there. Cost about 1400 pn in hi season.

Ahh, sorry all! I apologize for the crappy review, it's my first. Please let me know if my additions are not satisfactory.

I have no pics of it, booked through agoda.com and the pictures they have of the place are entirely accurate.

Rates through agoda booked May 24th were attractive to me, 5 night with all taxes and whatnot ended up being $308.00 US on my credit card...right at what?...9700 Baht or so and just under 2000 Baht a night.

We stayed an extra night not originally booked that we paid for at the front desk, I knew this was going to hurt the pocketbook and it did, $70 US / 2200 Baht. Would not stay there at that rate, but since we were already settled it was ok for just the one night.

As far as the dates not matching, we checked out Tuesday morning (the 20th), after a delayed arrival in Tokyo because of the typhoon I finally got home around 5 this morning and live in Japan, so it's only Wednesday afternoon here, 1641 as I type this.

I had read the same criticism of the place (loud and obnoxious neighbors) but maybe since it's low season I had no issues at all. I may as well have been the only one in the place.

Mate first of all welcome to PA. Second thanks for your post...the whole idea is that we try and help each other by giving out tips/info etc and your post did that. Yes @Mind was not bad at all for the money, I preferred Nova Gold further up the Soi but teerak thought reception "not lespect me" :Think1: so we moved to @mind.

I'm not in the slightesy racist butsome of the Russians were pretty rude and aggresive (January when I was there last). Cheers

Thank you for the welcome! I've gotten a lot out of the forum here while researching my latest trip and hope to give something back. Didn't want to get on that plane, can't wait for the next trip!!

Hello,

In the post above, there are some pictures of the room I stayed 14 days in "At mind residence serviced residence", between the 1 april 2012 and the 15 april 2012. I booked via Agoda and I pay 1 500 baths for a "studio with kitchenette".

The room they give me was huge, maybe 60 sqm, and, as members say above, everything was new and fully furnished with comtemporary style furnitures.

The main walls who give to the outside are in glass but there are good curtains, and, if you sleep the day, it almost prevent the light from enter. As Ted-k says, the ladies who clean room came late in the day. Therefore, I sleep good (my neighbours weren't noisy).

They also have a good swimming pool, sauna and gym.

Internet (free) was also very good, I can download a movie in less than an hour.

There isn't joiner fee, if the security gard was here, he asked for the identity card of my tilak du jour... but it's not every time he was here as I came back to my room, sometimes, very late in the night or early in the morning.

All in all, as far as I am concerned, "at mind services residence" has a very good ratio price/quality.

One month ago, I checked the price with agoda for a stay in this hotel in august, and the price have increased (more than 2 000 bath per day). Today, I checked again, and it seems, there are some promotions : 1 106 baths per days. I think I will book again !

Just back from my stay at @mind..deluxe room no 2310..i loved the place ,great hotel ,friendly staff and lovely pool area,5 mins walk from Soi6..the only problem just to far from Walking Street at stupid o'clock in the morning to get back..got charged between 80 bht and 180 bht depending on which bike taxi you get...baht bus easy stop at soi 6/1 and walk 100 metres to the hotel not easy with a pissed bargirl with 6" heels but ok..unfortunately the road after the hotel leading up to jamesons and ktk residence, amari and nova park..had a few dodgy teenagers on a bikes..mugging tourists on foot at night..friend of mine got set upon and a lovely shiner but for the intervention of the motrbike guys would have lost his stuff..russian couple staying @mind got pulled off there bike when they swiped her bag,he was in a mess..and one guy had his chain ripped from his neck early evening...so beware of this soi at night especially if you are on foot....other than that great hotel, and one major plus is the sexy ex-DD girl Ning

lives just around the corner ...she loved the place and stayed till the next day :Party3:

Seems like a great hotel! I have booked 7 nights in FEB @ 1450 THB for a "Deluxe studio with kitchenette". Is there balcony on these? Im a smoker, so that would really help.

Yes there is a balcony attached to any of the room so smoking is not an issue.

I went for it after reading Ted_K's review and Pirloius' phots and I love it, I like the fact that it's on a quiet Soi & rooms are amazing & very spacious. I had the 2-bedroom suite for a week.

:Thanks3:

Hey Guys, Which building block is better A or B?

I booked a 1bdr Suite through Agoda for Feb for 2 weeks and I have read on trip advisor that the 6th floor and up is better as you get sea views or pool and courtyard views and less noise but they didnt say which building, I heard they have different views and also different room layouts,

I was hoping to have the same room layout as the one "Pirlouis" posted in his pictures earlier :GoldenSmile1:

I have posted many times that prices on Agoda fluctuate a lot depending on capacity. This can vary literally by the hours.

As I have posted before I booked April Suites in November 2011 at just $11 a night. Went back a few hours later to get room for a mate and the same night was now $90.

Agoda does NOT have "fixed prices" so always check back if you dont see a good price.

Many people post that "they are not cheaper" but it is really vital to keep on checking due to this fluctuation as prices WILL change.
