The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Police Captain Chalerm, held a meeting of Police Officers from around the region at Nong Nooch Gardens in Jomtien on Monday. He was in Pattaya to attend the first day of Cabinet Meeting at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort and attended the meeting to demand action from the officers on a number of hot issues, especially those relating to Pattaya’s Tourism and Entertainment Industries. He began by demanding action on the well-documented Jet Ski Scams which have plagued Pattaya for many years. He wants urgent action and a report on how Police will plan to tackle this problem. He also demanded action on late-opening Bars and stated that all bars in entertainment zones which permit late closing must be shut before 2.30am from now on. For Pattaya Bar owners, this will likely mean an immediate crackdown on late-opening bars, especially those that are known to open until the early morning.

Handling the Jet Ski problems is a great idea but many have talked about it before and nothing has been done. Let hope this time.

 

Now the bar and closing time issues...this is a shame.

Pattaya is a 24hour city and that's the appeal of the place for many people.

Yes you right this is fun. Now and then they need to do statements that they will take action about jet ski scams, drugs, bar opening etc etc but i don't think it mean anything in the long run.

Can't understand the late opening crackdown though - can't quite see the problem there unless it's a morality thing.

I have been going to Pattaya for vacation every year for the last 15 years.The Jet Ski scam is getting worse .Every time I walk along Beach road opposite Mike Shopping Mall ,there is always an argument going on with some poor dude being threatened by some Thai Jet Ski Hire thugs demanding 15,000 to 30,000 Baht for the repair of their jet ski ,it is a total CON .Just stay away from these arseholes.Never rent a jet ski in Thailand .Even the Police are involved and they will give you no help.

Never once hired a Jetski and never will in future... Dont know why the good ones did not root out the bad ones . So in my eyes, they are all the same to me, Not a chance..

That official stated that he asked the authoritys,thats the police, but who is in on the scam?that same police.its always the same two policemen,one fat guy and one short guy,i have seen them dozens of times as i go 3times a year for the last10 years or so.the lute is devided. Between the jetski mob and the brownshirt mob.(itstays in the family,lol)

When i take friends on my trips and they are newbies i always warn them,not to rent a jetski or a bike from a non farang .when you rent of a farang and he decides to con you, you can crusify him virtually on the net and all the forums as i already did,

He saw his income drop like a brick .same like the bars who put extra bills in your checkbin.in soi 7 and 8 these bars are empty now

just try once to park your motorbike nearby them ensettlement !?!

 

is it normal that all the parking'public'spaces on the beachroad

are allocated by these(so called)shops(?)

renting out motorbikes(mainly always brand new ones)

who has(since all Thai owned)the cash to provide these services ???

Jet Ski Scamp should get cleaned!!! So happy that I was in a bad mood in June to hire one...damn it, even if you ask for an assessment you get nothing. Also that some of those guys a extreme big and strong is strange for thailand. Don't get it at all...they could made millions (THB) if they would act professionell with insurance companies. But who cares?

 

Have no problem to brake some thai fishbones...but those guys coming in a pride of thais. No chance alone. The JetSki scam is only one issue in Pattaya....Mafia is overal.

saw the exact thing same thing when i was there too and from what ive heard it happens all the time...will never touch one when i am there
