Hi all

First of all - thank you to all of you that have posted so much valuable information about hotels etc.

I have now booked my hotels in Pattaya for my next holiday, but I need to spend the last three days (2-5 october) in Bangkok. I must admit the I get so confused about the variety of hotels and the different reviews sites on the net, so I thought I would give you guys a try.

What I need is a fairly simple cheap hotel (am on a budget this time around) somewhere around the Nana st. area. I thought about the Nana hotel and even tried to book it through Agoda, but it keeps telling me that there are no avaible rooms. So now what to do? Do you have any suggestions?

My "demands" for a hotel is fairly simple: Location, safety, nice people and clean.

If the Nana hotel is your price range your options are Majestic Suites, Dynasty, Heaven@4 and Ibis to name a few.

For a few 100 baht more I'd recommend The Dawin hotel.

I really like the woraburi, way down soi 4. They offer a free tuktuk to the bts, but I always walk, about 5-10 minutes to nana plaza.

The average rate for a standard room is around 1000 baht. Nice staff, comfortable rooms even a cool little pool on the roof.

The Woraburi has got some good deals available until September '12. Boss Suites would be another one to consider. Paradiso Suites has rooms from around 1,250 on Agoda. Majestic Suites has been mentioned as has Dawin, although Dawin is 2,000 per night and overpriced IMO.

Good to hear as I am booked in in June. Got a deal that made it a no brainer, worked out at about 650 a night for superior room with breakfast thru Asia Web Direct.....maybe they made a mistake but that was the price when I booked and when I looked next day it was double. I know the rooms are quite small but hear it has been refurbished recently too.

Nana is too much on the decline... I'd look into some of the other options outlined here...

The Dawin for me - hands down.

Dynasty is walking distance (400m max) from Nana Plaza and a good hotel with everything you need. Be careful if you book through Agoda as there is two Dynastys registered with them in Bangkok. The others ones OK but more for the chinese/korean market and a bit further away from the action.

If you book double room then no problems with bringing a girl back.

Chinese/korean market? Where did you get that info from? I Have stayed at Dynasty Grande alot, and its really nice. And last week when I stayed there, I cant remember seeing neither Chinese or koreans.

The newly renovated rooms are excellent, and its only a 4-5 minute walk to the NP or the BTS.

Gryck if you read the post you would see that I stated there are two Dynasty hotels in Bangkok the one by Nana which I have also stayed in which as I stated is a good hotel and another one not far from the big fishing lake in Bangkok used by the koreans and chinese which I have also stayed in and I wanted to make sure when the original poster looked on agodas website he got the correct hotel.

After many trips and many locations I must say I prefer Soi 8 now. Right at Nana BTS. Siam Inn on the corner of Sukhmvit and Soi 8 has quite satisfactory rooms for 1000 Baht. On8 just a few doors up has slightly better rooms for 1200. Soi 8 pub has good food. Further down, Citadines has gorgeous rooms for around 1700 with a free tuk tuk shuttle (gym + pool).

And, its very central to Nana, and soi's 3-7, and Soi cowboy.

I like Ever Rich Inn. It's on Sukhumvit almost next to the Nana BTS station. Get one of the king sized rooms, and pref at the back of the building as then you avoid the noise of sukhumvit.

Think last time I was there it was 1200 a night through agoda. Really friendly staff, very GF and I like that bit of sukhumvit with all its stalls and the weird little drinks carts. Will be staying there next time Im back.

Ok im sorry if I got you wrong but do you mean Dynasty Grande or not? Dynasty Inn is the one nearest NP. But maybe you mean that there are some chinese and koreans using the lake? If look on the website you can clearly see that there is only two Dynasty NAMED hotels in BKK. Which one do you mean is the one with Koreans and Chinese? And im sorry again if I have a total mindcollaps.

Majestic Suites, i will be staying here myself in 2 weeks, have stayed twice before, right on the corner of Sukhumvit Rd and Soi 4 Nana.

Clean, friendly etc, no idea what the breakfast was like, was never up on time. No worries bringing ladies back.

Majestic Suites for around ~1250B/night outside of high-season is a good option in a perfect location for Nana.

It's a solid choice for a couple nights. If I was staying longer in BKK, I would want somewhere a little more comfortable with a pool etc.
