Do you need to pre book hotels in Pattaya?

I am travelling to Pattaya in June. I have been told not to pre book a hotel as you can get plenty of cheaper deals when you arrive.

Is this true or should I pre book?

you should be right, my biggest drama is that the flights from oz mostly arrive late in the evening and last thing I want to do is go looking for a room when I should be looking for a root. might be worth booking 1 or 2 nights for arrival and check things out after a nights sleep.

I can have this at home............................or this in LOS, thats why I go

Welcome to the board. :hello09:

I will said yes, easy to find a hotel. But if it is first time or man don't have good knowledge about pattaya. I will advise use this site to get some knowledge about where to stay and make a list over hotels there you sound good for you.

What you can do :

1. Book a hotel for the first 3 days and go check out the hotels/guesthouse on the list.

2. Find one hotel you like and book it. (do not need to wrong about where to stay. )

Good booking site:

Thanks guys, we are spending the first 4 nights in Bangkok before coming to Pattaya. My mate and I have booked for Bangkok. He has been to Pattaya before and knows some good hotels, but we were wondering if it is cheaper not to pre book.

It is not really a matter of cheaper or not. You won't save huge money.

But when you just walk in, you can ask to see the room first. So you don't end in a crappy room with no view already prepaid for 2 weeks... Thai hotels are very good at this...

Yes, so do I. Transit from Sydney, I always arrive in Patt around 12pm to 1am. But any time of the year, including very high season, it takes less than 2 minutes to find a 500b room in soi 13/1 to 13/4. Just for one or 2 nights, and then move in a better place.

I always pre book my hotel, the last thing I want to do on arrival is trawl around looking for a room.

For me the tiny amount of money you save is completely overshadowed by the time you waste looking for a hotel.
