Mobile phone internet to laptop

Recommended Posts

I'm about to get a DTAC pre-paid monthly internet deal for my Samsung Galaxy Y. And I've hear that there's a way I can also connect my laptop to the Galaxy to share the internet connection. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L500. So is this easy to do? Any info much appreciated.

It's easy to do if you have an iPhone 4 - all have hotspot wifi sharing ablity. Connect to the phone like you would any wifi router. And with a name like Galaxy, you sure would think it could do the same... ;-)

No idea about Galaxy Y

But on Galaxy S2 and most android phones there is hotspot in the network and connection settings, you can turn your galaxy to a wifi router and it will use your mobile internet.

Pretty easy just go to settings -> wireless and network -> Tethering and portable hotspot -> Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings and you can follow the guide from there.
