Flights over a month LHR to BKK - direct only

On my various trips to Thailand - I have sometimes wanted to change my return dates - generally to EXTEND beyond a month

On one occasion it cost me £75 odd and was not a problem - other times I could not extend unless I paid a ridiculous amount of money which was not worth it

When I asked why there was such a difference I was told it was the type of ticket I bought in the first place

Someone suggested booking a 2 month ticket and then changing it out there to come back earlier and paying £75 to change it...

How exactly do I book a ticket at this end that can be extended beyond a month whilst I am there - if I need to?

When you search for flights at skyscanner etc, you get the absolutely cheapest tickets with no right to change/cancel/upgrade/whatever.

So you will need to book thru the airlines website and avoid fares like "Economy Restricted", "Business Saver" and ofc pay a greater price.

Check the Eva air and Thai websites, the cheapest fares are only valid for 1 month tickets for 2 or 3 months tend to be £200-£300 more. think you are stuck if you are not sure when you are returning, but will be over a month. Might be worth looking at flights with stop overs.

I seem to recall Big Reg mentioning that Jet Airways are a standard one year ticket with first change free ??

Not non stop obviously but pretty good ticket. Go onto Westeast travel website and put in your dates but pick on one of the non stop carriers BA Qantas Eva and Thai rather than letting the search engine search all.

They have a "fare rules" icon on each price......
