    Looking for help

Many of you guys know me, and quite a few of you know Terry Lee my business partner in Babydolls. I may have a reputation for being tight (cautious with my money lol) but even I have pledged some money to Terry's appeal as it is clearly a very worthwhile cause, and even the smallest of donations will make a significant difference to the lives of these kids. I am posting on behalf of Terry and I would love to see some of you Addicts guys get behind it too. If there is one thing I have learnt on the forums, it's that we have people from all walks of life. Surgeons, Undertakers, Pilots, Sales guys, Marketing guys, Engineers...you name it. They are all here. I am trying to find someone with experience in fund raising so that I can pick their brains. Firstly let me say that I know times are very hard and its a terrible time to try and raise 'charitable' donations, but nothing ventured nothing gained. The project My wife is originally from a small village in Issan called Pratai. It is approx 100 km further on than Korat, and the last 15km's to her village is a dirt track. I have visited the school a number of times since 2006, and due to it's remote location it is largely overlooked when funding is handed out. However it is the only school in the village, and it caters to all 4 -12 year old's in the village. Currently 72 pupils. The school has been in pretty terrible condition since I first saw it, but in 2009 the floods devastated the school. They have really been struggling to keep the school operating under very difficult circumstances, and so we thought we would see if we could do anything to assist. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. My wife has gathered a good amount of pledges from friends etc and I thought I would jump in and try and help too. So far I have applied for grants/assistance from a number of charity's in Thailand, but apparently it takes quite a number of months to be considered and of course funding is very limited. Proposals require 'situational analysis', detailed budgets, implementation schedules...the list goes on and on. I have absolutely no experience in the field and was hoping some one would have some prior knowledge of putting together a proposal of this type. Sure I could scratch something together, but I want to make sure these kids have every opportunity open to them, If anyone is involved in a business either in Thailand or elsewhere and sees merit in getting on board with this, then I would be delighted to hear from you. Thanks Anyone wishing to make a contribution can do so by Paypal to the email address Terry2011Thai@gmail.com (set up specifically for this appeal) or you can also stop by Babydolls and leave it with the manager PHIL ONLY (BM misteregg), please feel free contact Terry Lee by PM with any questions or suggestions.
  2. The Sanuk Day Care Center in Jomtien has a new colour printer/scanner/copier thanks to the generosity of a FreePlayo player. A Melissa Cosgrove Children’s Foundation (MCCF) project, Sanuk is a day care facility and nursery for the children of building and construction industry workers in the Pattaya area. Keith Storey, Group Sales Manager of The Nova Group, has played FreePlayo nearly every day since he registered on the free website in January. On March 7 he struck lucky with five correct logos and won the top prize of 5,000 FreePlayo points. With another 2,500 points accumulated through a combination of winning plays and friend invitations, Mr Storey had enough points to claim the 5,000 Baht donation to the MCCF sponsored by FreePlayo. “There are plenty of great cash and prize Rewards on FreePlayo,” said Mr Storey. “However, I know the fantastic work Tracy (Cosgrove) does through MCCF and thought that the sponsored donation would be a fun and fulfilling way to use my points.” At the top of MCCF founder Tracy Cosgrove’s wish list was a printer for the new Sanuk Day Care Center, which will receive its first intake of children in April. On March 16, FreePlayo co-founders Matt O’Sullivan and David Gillbanks purchased a Canon printer/scanner/copier and took it to Sanuk to meet with Ms Cosgrove and Mr Storey. “I wish to thank Keith and FreePlayo for their generosity,” said Ms Cosgrove. “We are delighted to be associated with FreePlayo; not only for the donation Rewards that benefit the kids, but also for the fantastic exposure our work has received on FreePlayo’s website, blog, and social networks.” Tracy Cosgrove has given hope to thousands of youngsters in Thailand through the MCCF, which she established in 2003 after seeing first-hand the terrible conditions in which children are forced to live. Her transforming work in orphanages, with street children, and for youngsters with AIDS and disabilities has received international recognition; and inspired hundreds of people who have been touched by her courageous story. Now based in Pattaya, MCCF is working with the booming construction industry to improve the lives of children living with their parents in squalid labour camps around the cities of Pattaya and Bangkok. If you would like to help MCCF please contact Tracy Cosgrove at sanukcsr@gmail.com or call +66 (0) 84 778 5476. For FreePlayo sponsorship and advertising enquiries, email info@FreePlayo.com.
