  1. Keep doing what you're doing, walk around. It's high season so don't be too fussy.
  2. What's the biggest difference between Coke and Pepsi? Between MacDonald's and Burger King? Brand loyalty. They are fundamentally the same product aiming for the same customers.
  3. Golden Rule: Do not lie to govt officials working in their official capacity.
  4. Could be. Freelancers work when they need to. See also
  5. Open the MyAIS app and tap on the "On-top Pack" button. Then near the top of the screen will be buttons labeled, "Internet on-top," "5G Mode," "Unlimited internet," etc.
  6. I usually stay at one hotel but only pay a few days at a time, to keep my options open.
  7. I also assumed it was taboo but after seeing other cars picking up, I successfully ordered a Bolt car. This was a few weeks ago.
  8. You can order Bolt cars inside the bus terminal (through the app) at normal prices. (no special fees like airport pickups).
  9. @shionwisteria My card is over ten years old and still works.
  10. Before entering a bar for the first time, spend a few seconds with the girls on the street. Do they seem to like you? Do they treat you respectfully? Etc.
  11. I received a direct message with an important warning: WU plays games with the offered exchange rates. WU offered me rates that were lower and higher than TT; different rates between the app and website, and whether I was logged in or not. If you don't like the rate, try again later. In the end, however, WU was my last resort and I got rates better than cash exchange. For refernce: https://ttexchange.com/ [TT Exchange website]
  12. I recently transmitted USD from USA via WU. I was prepared to be ripped off but was pleasantly surprised. Pros: Better exchange rate than cash (almost 1 baht per dollar), including fees. One transaction instead of multiple ATM withdrawals. Cons: WU locked my (newly created) account after my first transfer. They magically unlocked it without notice after a week or two. About 10-20 minutes queue to pick-up at Central. I saw no lines at TukCom. I had to consistently use a VPN with US IP address to initiate the transaction. Take your original passport for pick-up. For me, the primary disadvantage is that it takes more time and effort than ATM machines. If you open a new account, you should verify your identity at a WU branch in the US before your trip. [I do not have a Thai bank account. I have a Schwab card.]
  13. I hate changing hotels but will For a special treat at a nicer hotel for a few days Due to availability and pricing On my current trip, the latter has been a big issue.
  14. Thai Post accepted a photocopy of my passport when mailing a parcel today. Money changers, e.g., TT, have never declined my home country drivers license.
  15. It works as advertised. Read the FAQ on their website. I successfully paid a small restaurant that had a QR code labeled, "QR Payments," in other words, to a "business account." They do not represent that you can transfer money to personal accounts, which I can confirm. You can cash out your balance. For me, the app is laggy and slow. Conclusion: It did not improve my life, but it might be more useful outside tourist areas.
