Partly depends on how picky you are…. A few weekends back I stayed over at Hotel 11, on Soi 11, next to Nana, and was getting a good walk in before the heat at around 7. There must have been three or so freelancers on the prowl and a couple more in the coffee club, beers in hand!

Whilst I generally agree with the words of caution, and stronger expressions there of, there are a few confounds. One, if you can comfortably afford it, and with your eyes fully open, if it makes you feel good there is something to that. Two, the screwing you until you have nothing left or eventually realise it has gone too far, is not a 100 per center. In the earlier days I was certainly screwed over a couple of times which draws back to the ‘say no under all circumstances’ consensus. But I hang on to a few experiences where I suspected I was being rinsed, but actually it turned out to be an isolated request, and some of those ladies are reciprocal friends many, many years later. There is no doubt a touch of wishful thinking to this post but I don’t ever want to lose a positive view of humanity and my general experiences in this country point in favour of that (but keep those eyes wide open at the same time). 6 and GCs are completely different beasts. Although I have the odd moment, the spinners and youth of the former don’t give me what I need. The best GCs can offer mellow, no pressure fun and can also offer some very kinky, out in the open experiences. GCs probably wouldn’t have been my thing 20 years ago but these days I absolutely love them.

I think mixing up is key. I live in the centre for a few years, soon tired of that. But living approx 40 minutes out gives me the best of both worlds- crazy times when I need it, quiet and natural beauty the rest of the time

I think I am cursed by idyllic memories when I was 19 and so on my last visit over 30 years later I just couldn’t deal with the comparisons and left after a couple of days. It is probably an unfair and rushed judgement though so really should try again.

I,m not a great sleeper and some times YouTube videos with soft spoken voices helps. I tried this one last night featuring the physicist Brian Cox. It didn’t work as although he has a very soothing voice, he is so f’ing interesting my brain fires up

I try to drink a litre of water before passing out (requires pissed up discipline though) and some electrolytes in the morning with sparkling water. Strangely, a ham and cheese baguette can get me moving followed by a beer. If I am pissed on bad wine, nothing helps

The wife (Thai) has white cotton thongs or tight white hipsters (more masculine style) as standard - I prefer the latter as I like the way her ass sits in them. She goes commando with trousers and will make an effort with more silky lingerie and black stockings for bedroom fun. Don’t ask me why but I love the look of cumming over the stockings- generally a good way of stimulating me for round two.

Sometimes I hear negative reports but I have been stopping by for many years without a problem. For me, I may start a night there, often solo and maybe 3 or so drinks so no problem keeping an eye on the bill. Some freelancers may seem pushy, but if I don’t like, a politely confident ‘ no thanks, just chilling suffices’. And from time to time the odd stunner will appear but as a popular place you have to move quickly. One of the best people watching spots too.

I may not visit that often but can attest that this is a cracking friendly spot. I spend a lot of time in the down and dirty out in the open places but Buttercups is a refreshing contrast - it has an element of class, beautiful girls with a good, broad age range, sports galore and just a nice feel, whether for a quiet drinks whilst catching up on sport, or for gentle flirting perhaps leading to more afterwards. If I was a newbie to town, I think this would be a very comfortable starting point.

Almost always ST but longing for LT. I live a charmed life, my Thai wife permits mongering but with a few rules, one of which is ST only. I get the odd pass every now and again for LT when she has an extended visit to family, but would love more (although ultimately I know how lucky I am in my relationship and wouldn’t trade it).
