  1. Interesting that you liked the food at Beet Hub - I tried the pineapple fried rice there and it wasn't a patch on the one I'd previously had at one of the places at Terminal 21
  2. I know its no help but my flight back the UK with Qatar actually landed 20 minutes early - from my point of view international travel at least still seems ok.
  3. And having only just gotten back home I already want to be back there.
  4. Thanks for giving me an idea whats available in Pratumnak and Jomtien.
  5. Wild guess its because there are no pickups there - that means a driver needs to go all the way there and back to BKK to pick up their next customer.
  6. I suspect thats why they need all the photocopies - you are mean to have your passport with you in Thailand therefore they need a mechanism whereby the thai law is followed but people can renew without having to leave the country.
  7. The condos being built are due for handover to buyers June 2029. With regards to how noisy it is there was a note in my room about it but I'm only on the 3rd floor this time, the corner clsoest to the construction and haven't heard anything - been here a week now.
  8. Staying in the Amethyst atm - they have an A4 standee on reception with something close to that price for september - I'd be booking for my next trip in September if I hadn't already made the booking.
  9. Don't think it was @LASportsNut as he was sat in his usual spot with just me in that section - @D-Nice was in the section at the back left. The button pushes did get rather nuts at one point - I think about 6 or 7 at the same time. There is also a pull horn which buys a drink for all the girls up there - not just those in your section. I was the BM you talked with before the party. Also the girl who was definitely very drunk was Fay I believe.
  10. One important thing - per notices I saw in a number them today it is now _15_ baht not 10. I've not seen this mentioned elsewhere so figured it was worth flagging up. I think this is why the driver said something in my direction after I'd used on on wednesday - I'd just given him 10 baht on autopilot but then as not every one has the notices how can they expect people to know?
  11. No status - will be back to silver with qatar after the return flight but that only gets you access to the business lounge at heathrow. The lounge is similar to the business class one with the main exception being the little restaurant bit at one end, relatively small menu but things like steak on it - though they only offer medium or well done, everyone seems to ask for medium rare based on what I heard while I was in there, at least three other people all asking the same thing.
  12. Don't know for certain but I'm guessing not - I was flying business class but was shown to the first class rather than the business lounge at heathrow - could have been because they are only running one at the moment but thats pure speculation on my part.
  13. Flew out of Heathrow on Tuesday to BKK via Doha (with Qatar obviously). No problems apart from being about 30 minutes late into BKK - the in-flight map did show an initial route straight south from Doha though.
  14. UAE leaving OPEC will have zero short term impact. The main thing being in OPEC does is give them limits on how much they can produce - UAE have far more capacity for production that OPEC generally allows them to produce however the problem with the shortage of kerosene is nothing to do with it not being produced, its with getting it through the Strait of Hormuz therefore even if UAE can now up production it doesn't help them get it out.
  15. Alternatively just pass the cash and carry drinks type place there's a little booth that does laundry - thats where I tend to go.
